- While spending time in Cuba I became friends with this waiter in a little street bar in Havanna. Those bars have seldom more to offer than one sort of rum and a cheep brand of cigarettes. On top, they are almost empty during the day and the waiters have a lot of time just watching the world go by.

- Students at the Arirang Festival mass games acting as human pixels in an incredible series of displays at the May Day Stadium. The most gifted students are selected to perform in this spectacle usually showing the history of the North Korean people. The event is put up almost every night for as long as two months each year, showing one and the same piece again and again. Almost 100.000 performers each night, easily outnumber the amount of spectators, making it the “greatest show on earth”.

- I was covering a music festival called Oppikoppi. It's dusty, windy, thorny and hot with local and international rock & roll blasting the scorched semi arid landscape while a broad culture of people spanning many different age groups drift along it like the wild animals that inhabit the surrounding game parks. The young man in the picture really captures the riotous essence of the event in one look, almost as if he was going into battle, a metaphoric battle that youth declares against the 21st century living for the moment with out a care breaking the rules and testing boundaries.

- The Hadzabe people are one of the last groups of hunters-gatherers who still preserve their nomadic way of life. While the women take care of the small kids and gather fruits and roots, the men hunt, using a bow and poisoned arrows. Here, a kid-hunter is stretching before the hunt.
