- “Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art.” –Eleanor Roosevelt This was shot in a remote village called Turtuk near the Pakistan border in Ladakh region of India. I was busy taking photographs of some kids and this grandma appeared along the pathway. When she saw that I was trying to take a photo of her she had this spontaneous smile which made this photo special. Only one good shot I could get before she left.

- i met this old lady's husband while photographing my grandparents' neighbors. first i took a photo of him - he went to change his smudgy clothes, and came back with a brand new blue shirt. after that, he invited me to his house, to photograph his wife. there she was in a darkling room lying in a blanketed bed with antique smell. she hadn't moved from there for a long, long time. her husband helped her to get up a little, so i could take some portraits. i did take pictures of her youngish features. but what impressed me the most were her motionless, yet mellow feet.

- Every Sabbath, the ultra-orthodox Jews gather at the Western Wall to pray. The Wall is the only remnant of the Holy Temple and has become a place for pilgrimage within Judaism. The sages state that anyone who prays in the Temple in Jerusalem, “it is as if he has prayed before the throne of glory because the gate of heaven is situated there and it is open to hear prayer”.[89] Jews in Diaspora always turn to the direction of Jerusalem when they pray.
