An Arab goat-herder putting his flock into the fold for the night in an abandoned residence in Bashiqa, on the outskirts of Mosul. Bashiqa has managed to remain relatively peaceful despite its proximity to Mosul and is home to a diverse group of ethnic Arabs, Kurds and Turkomen.

When does childhood become adulthood? When does snack time become lunch at your desk? When did safety shift from blankies to insurance? When did magic turn into illusion? Childhood. When the whole world is magic.

    Sisters

    Sisters
    field_caption
There are some in Haiti who act as a looking glass, a prism into what can become of this place. Sisters, girls who are bound at the hip, who depend on each other for their very existence, are a window on Haiti’s troubles, and beyond that, a possible path toward freedom and change. They have proven what they want just by holding hands, with sisters, the power of love is ruthless. It defies anything that is thrown their way. They reveal how human touch is vital in a crisis that physical presence can make a difference, and that blood acts as a catalyst for the future.

I shot this photo while my friend, and recent college graduate, Eric was working on his newly-purchased storage shed. His snowboard goggles, out of their element, were being used to protect his eyes from drywall dust -- an interesting commentary on how ambitions change post-college.

    Moustache Warrior
    field_caption
Some elder Rajasthani men, like this one I photographed in Jodhpur, take pride in showing off their facial hair. In the tradition of the Rajput caste (the warriors, or fighters) members of which are numerous in North India, a large, well-groomed moustache is a symbol of courage, dignity and status. Unfortunately, due to the increasing westernisation of the younger generations, this ancient tradition is slowly disappearing.

Soul Lifted To the Sound Of Music
    field_caption
In an electronic music festival, I woke up early (or rather never went to bed) and as usual i dragged along my camera, I've spent much time in local area and the people are accustomed to me taking endless pictures so they don't even flinch or change up there acted when they see me. I heard familiar music at a nearby sound camp, and saw a friend of mine dancing, I'm always amazing how she moves with out any technique or defined skill and still manages to keep your attention, she clearly loves to be lost in a sea of notes
