At the Charles Darwin Research Station, a female Lava Lizard basks gracefully in the afternoon sun. I loved the way her shiny scales reflected the rays and, despite the territorial nature of the Lava Lizard, the way she was calmly and stunningly poised in this shot. As always, the beauty and perfection of nature never ceases to amaze me.
