A beautiful sunrise on the Big Island while shooting the Kalapana Lava Flow. in 2010 my wife and i had the incredible privilege to experience one of the most incredible forces on the planet. It was an experience that has left such a lasting impression on me. The power of this place is undeniable and palpable the second that you arrive. The smell, the incredible heat and the sounds are serve to overwhelm your senses and literally burn the experience into memory. I still have dreams about this place and long to see it again someday soon.
