My friend, artist Jamie Muller, oversaw a crew that built this enormous sculpture in Lake Cootharaba for the Floating Land Art Festival. The "Ship of Fools" was a life-sized replica of the ship wrecked off the Queensland coast in the early 1800's,and was built where it is thought that a survivor ,Eliza Fraser, came ashore. Her story of survival in the care of the local Aboriginies is a famous one. Most of the sculpture was an imaginary construct - the part under the water. I had one of the construction crew, Simon, trace the outline of the boat as Jamie projected images on the sails.
