On a nature preserve in Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa, a pride made up entirely of female lions was resting during the heat of the day. The cubs were only a few weeks old, so their mother jumped up when our vehicle arrived. She wasn't scared, but she wasn't taking any chances either. Shortly after this was taken she hid away her cubs in group of bushes nearby while the other members of the pride stared us down in warning.
