Gnawa Musicians in Fes

The three Gnawa musicians performed for twenty of us in a riad in Fes, Morocco. All three sang, but the center musician took the lead for most of the songs. They played instruments as the ginbri, the string instrument seen in the center, and garagab, or castanets. The trio also danced while incense burned. The background contains traditional Moroccan crafts such as carved plaster, carved wooden door, and the intricately patterned zellij tile work.
Location: Fes, Morocco, North Africa
