Typically arriving to the Cordillera Blanca in late May is OK for climbing conditions. Not so in 2012 when the range was plagued by poor weather and unstable snow much later than usual - a trend that is only expected to continue with global warming. This image was taken on a acclimatization hike to Laguna Ishinca.
