The Simple Barnacle

Category: Nature

Photo and caption by Andrew Couse

This photograph was taken in the clear tropical waters of the Coral Sea on a recent scuba diving adventure to Osprey Reef. I had noticed clusters of feeding barnacles just hanging out on the mooring lines used by the boat. I was quite enthralled by the tiny details of each barnacle and their contrasting color to the beautiful blue surrounding waters. For me this is a very relaxing photo that plays on the simple things and provides a warm summertime feel.

Location: North Horn dive site, Osprey Reef, Australia
