Also known as the White-breasted Kingfisher or Smyrna Kingfisher, it is a tree kingfisher, common throughout South Asia. During the mating season they are a frequent sight perched on the tops of buildings or on wires. Versatile hunters of insects and smaller lizards, they are beautiful and vibrant and though common are always a captivating sight!
