This photograph was taken of a teenage girl, from the Fulani nomad tribe in Niger. She is standing in the middle of the dessert miles and miles away from what westerners would call civilization. She has dressed herself with homemade jewelry and whatever she has found on her way. On her head she has a pair of broken sunglasses, which is her proudest possession.
