Located near the Austrian border and acting as a gateway to the European Alps is the picturesque Bavarian town of Füssen with its winding cobblestone roads and Germanic designed buildings resplendent in vibrant colours. The charming surroundings could easily be mistaken for a peaceful Mediterranean setting. The old buildings that surround the centuries old Cathedral of St Magnus are beautifully complemented by a river that passes through the town and forested hills that surrounded this Alpine haven.
