Milky Way from the Sangre de Cristos

This has always been one of my favorite backpacking getaways, and on this trip I was so pleased to be making it out on the new moon. On the hike up there was a campsite I was hoping to be vacant based on previous trips, and sure enough it was! This shot was taken right from our site, with a view down the range we just hiked up, and the little town of Crestone off in the distance. Beautiful night under the stars!
