Early morning on a quiet, rural Queensland highway. We had been looking for Koalas since arriving in Australia two weeks earlier. This was our first sighting (we did not hit it, but we did move it off the highway). Koalas populations are in rapid decline across New South Wales and Queensland, mainly due to human encroachment into their habitat.
