Desert and scrub lands often appear lifeless until you slow down and look a little closer. This dragonfly buzzed by me while hiking in the Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park near Vantage, Washington. I was taking landscape and cloud shots when he landed next to me, and I was lucky enough to snap a quick shot before he flew away.
