Touring a nearby zoo, my husband and I noticed this male standing in the grass as though bored, and obviously not intimidated by human closeness. As I crouched down, I said gently to him, "Hey pretty boy, show me your tail." Immediately he opened up his beautiful fan to reveal his vivid colors and struck this pose for us. He even allowed my husband to touch his feathers!
