Lanyu (the Orchid Island) is a small island on the pacific ocean, south-eastern Taiwan, home to the "Tao" ,an ethnic minority group who migrated to the island from the Batan Archipelago 800 years ago, and they still keep their traditional life style until now such as using these unique canoes which decorated with beautiful red/black/white totems as a main fishing tool instead of modern diesel engine ones.
