Bright Eyes, Big Cat

It's quiet; eerie yet peaceful on an early July, winter morning. The delicate, pink light shines on the savannah. Still and calm. He emerges- a majestic cat filled with stoic pride. The grass sways. Another emerges. She, covered with blood, leads the way. Tame yet wild, a leader awaiting her mate. He stops. They stare. Timing must be perfect, and he knows it. Slyly he sneaks behind her, on the prowl. She refuses. Tension rises. He peers toward his audience. Eyes lock, as the light gently falls upon his copper mane. No longer a cat, but simply a soul.
