The traditions and folk customs are treasured and cultivated through the Iza Valley like nowhere else in the Carpathian region. Traditions are these people’s way of life. There’s hardly any sign of modern technology here, it is as if the time stopped, beauty and life preserved. The picture present the moment from the biggest summer Orthodox Christian Liturgy when the believers with their unworldly faces put their hands on the cleric holy book. The women's is shown wearing a headscarf, that is part of the typical Maramures traditional costume, which almost every woman and girl must bear.
