Utricularia Striata

Also known as the "Bladderwort" this aquatic Carnivorous Plant has many tiny little traps that sway under the surface with the water's current in the wind. This individual looks to be well fed due to the large amount of full baldders. The dark colouration is due to the digestive enzymes that are breaking down its prey. Taken June, 2012 (the cameras settings are off a year) Part of Author's local exploration of Carnivorous Plants project.

Location: A sandy pond in Manorville, Long Island, NY, USA
