Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a fort used during the Spanish-American war, was originally built for Spanish occupation from 1539-1898. Once Old San Juan became a part of the United States, it was then occupied by American Military until it was turned into a national park in 1961. I took this photo during the summer (2012) while on vacation in Puerto Rico. This picture captures one of the many winding staircases connecting the different levels of the fort.
Location: Old San Juan, Puerto Rico
