Sunrise at the most easterly point of Australia. Arakwal National Park and the Byron Bay Lighthouse see the first light of the day in Australia. The sunrise is often a colorful spectacle as the sun appears above the ocean horizon and beams through the often present clouds shedding golden light across the heathland and illuminating the scene. Mist and dewdrops are an additional bonus when this image was taken. The dawn of a new day juxtaposed with the decaying tree is symbolic of the cycles of life and death in nature.
