A vulture's elegance

Category: Nature

Surrounded by the water of a receding tide, a Black-headed Vulture daintily stands on a rock, looking as if it is curtseying, wings spread, head down and feet barely touching the ground. Vultures, so commonly despised or ignored, are fantastic creatures, one of the most skillful and elegant fliers in the avian world. Witnessing this display on firm ground made me realize that this bird can be as graceful on its feet as it is on its wings
