Orphan monks of Cambodia

I found these young monks while roaming with my tour guide in Banyan temple of Siem Reap. According to a local lady who takes care of them, their parents have either passed away or abandoned them while they were very young and have been adopted by the elder monks since. They would learn the religious customs of Theravada Buddhism, which 95% of the population practice and by the age of 12, they would be asked to be adopted by a single foster parent (father or mother). What happens if they don't find one remained a question unanswered.
