Rudy was buried in the Nimbin cemetery overlooking the lush green hills of the Northern Rivers region in Australia. A well known local identity he was involved in the first Mardi Gras gay festival in Sydney, as well as being integral in the first Mardi Grass anti-prohibition festivals in Nimbin. He was buried in a hemp coffin spray painted in gold. The words priceless had been etched in the coffin and three large buds were placed in the center of a green fabric marijuana leaf.
