Reindeer spring migration by the south sami people of Gåbrien Sijte. This indigenous people of Norway and Sweden have been living with reindeers for centuries, and a few of them still do. Every spring the herds move towards the summer pastures, traveling slowly through the most desolate mountains. The animals live like the wild reindeer, walking freely in the high mountains and as far away from people as possible. But are guarded by the sami in times of migration and in the calfing season.
Location: The Kjølifjellene mountains in Røros, Norway
