Morning Hunt

This lion was photographed during a safari on the Serengeti just after sunrise. The safari was the postlude to a veterinary mission trip to Tanzania. After leading then following our vehicle for a time, the lion wandered out into the grass and raised his face to the sun, providing the perfect lighting for his countenance. The mist and the early morning lighting give a painting-like quality to the photo.
