I took this photo in the Dubai Desert in July this year. We were on a 4WD desert safari tour. Along the way we stopped for a Falconry display. It was extremely hot and the handler was concerned that the bird wouldn't perform. Despite the heat it obliged and swooped in on cue to take the prey I managed to snap this photo in the split second the Peregrine Falcon looked directly at me. I think the photo captures beautifully the intense look of the Falcon after it had just landed back on its handler’s glove having successfully captured its prey.
