Mid afternoon is not usually a time for impactful images. Once in a great while, though, Dame Fortune smiles and effort is rewarded. The rare combination of bright, clear winter sky throwing beams of light down through the branches of these young oaks and rising mist from melting snow defining those beams was a sight to behold and record.

Location: El Capitan Meadow, Yosemite Valley, Yosemite National Park
