Hunter of the deep night

My apartment is adjacent to a heavily wooded steep mountain about 1000meters tall, where I hear wild boars and see occasional macaques and different birds. At the rainy season, diverse species of moths, beetles, spiders, geckoes and mantises are attracted to the lights and humidity of the car park, some to feed and others to mate. This great nightly show often reaches its peak after mid-night. The image here depicts a large beetle, resting on a car roof after feeding; one of several large species that often preyed on unwary insets. As the months progress, different species emerge.
