Out of the Blue

Category: Nature

Photo and caption by Michael Nathan

While photography this Mule Deer at 9500 ft a Golden Eagle entered my view finder suddenly. The eagle ascended again with talons out, and dropped, but not before this muley dashed over the other side of the ridge. As can be seen in the photo the mule deer was now watching the eagle for it's next move. I watched the eagle drop 3 or 4 times.

Location: In the Boulder Mountains, north of Ketchum, Idaho
