An holy bath in the Ganges river, especially at Varanasi is deemed as most auspicious. The pilgrims believed that – one bathing in river Ganges at Varanasi washes them from the evil. Kartik Purnima is considered to be the most sacred ritual bathing religious ceremony in India.
