Photo and caption by Kiat Teo

This Owl is 42cms (16½ inches) in length, has large eyes and long ears tufts. As its name suggests, it feeds on fish by making shallow dives for fish near the surface of the water. It has no feathers on its legs and feet and the soles of its feet are sharp and spiky. Its claws are long and curved; the image was taken at Singapore Bird Sanctuary. These birds are highly photogenic and the outline is eye captivating. This beautiful bird elicits many varied reactions, from comical, to hilarious, to stunning beauty. So, I offer you this moment in an Owl life.......stunning beauty.

Location: Singapore Bird Sanctuary.
