Close Encounter with Humpback Whale

Category: Nature

I was on a whale watching trip in Rurutu, French Polynesia. I was swimming a few feet in front of a humpback whale. The whale suddenly came fast my way. I had no time to swim away. Fortunately, the whale changed course at the last minute and avoided me. I took this amazing picture just as the whale passed by me. The whale was so close to me that its right pectoral fin also touched my chest.
