The "random walk" or "drunkard walk" is the basic process in random process theory, where every step is random and does not depend on the former step. It has expressions in mathematics, science, economics and engineering. The pattern on the leaf, made by the walk of a beetle or a caterpillar, is an example of this process in nature.
