The soul of Tenerife is well represented in the Teide. Located in the center of the island, is the largest and oldest of the four national parks in the Canary Islands. Life among the lava is arduous, wildlife here make an effort to adapt to the harsh conditions. The forty million years of the Canary Islands, their isolation and tyrannical weather in these latitudes have favored the existence of a variety of endemic species such as the Teide bugloss (Echium wildpretii) that have always been a treasure for scientists and naturalists .
