Contrasting architectures

In 1988, 80 tonnes of Nepalese timber was shipped to Australia to build this Nepalese Peace Pagoda for the World Expo held in Brisbane that year. Towering behind this temple the 60 metres Ferris Wheel built in 2008 is indeed an interesting contrast. But the hand-carved Nepalese temple and the lit up steel-frame of the wheel look great together and make my hometown Brisbane, just a little more special.
