Henequen trolley tracks weaving through tall palms on 17th century hacienda (Hacienda San Pedro Ochil) in the state of Yucatan, Yucatan, Mexico. No longer used for the production of henquen, it is now a stop over for tourists visiting the Mayan ruins. Approximately 38 kilometers from the capital of Yucatan (Merida), it's an excellent place to have lunch in an open aired, ochre walled restaurant and observe woodworkers, embrioderes and weavers. A small museum of local history gives one a glimpse of of bygone days.
Location: Located in the state of Yucatan, on the Yucatan peninsula, Mexico.
