I was in the North of British Columbia staying at a horrible hotel and bored out of my mind. To cure my boredom I pulled my tripod out and hiked out a bit to see if I could do some star photography. To my surprise, the northern lights peeled from the sky like a digital wave. Growing up in Canada I'd seen the northern lights before, but never on a warm summer night and never with such appreciative eyes. I put myself into the photo in hopes of displaying the feeling of being there experiencing nature in all its wonder.
