The Pantanal in Brazil holds many surprises including jaguars, capybaras, caiman, other reptiles and mammals, and lots of birds. A green iguana was down by the shoreline of the Cuiaba River one day while my tour group was boating down the river looking for wildlife. It was munching on greenery when we approached it, stayed in view for quite some time, and then disappeared into the forest. The iguana was quite aware we were there and kept looking in our direction.
