Cool Hand Lynx

En-route to Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park, exploring McCarty-Kennicott Copper Mine, our very knuckle-clenching van-ride came to a screeching halt. When all of a sudden the very elusive native North-American Lynx walked non-chalantly across the road, to spy on movement in the grass next to the road. He sat there, unbothered by our presence, and allowed us ample time to photograph him. It takes days for a National Geographic Photographer to wait for this very moment. I felt very privledged to witness this sighting, as most native Alaskan's merely have slight opportunities to do the same.

Location: Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park, McCarthy Road, Chitna Alaska
