"The Waxwing Rises"

When I first spotted this stealth looking creature in a tree just beyond my backyard I had to grab my camera immediately! It was my first sighting, as I am a new "birder", of a Cedar Waxwing! This beautiful bird wears a black mask across his eyes, so that one can only be reminded of Batman! I was shooting from my open doorway as he sat in a tree 50 feet away. I zoomed in and was able to capture this beautiful profile of him. I love the contrast of the dead leaves with his pristine, flawlessness. He was quiet, still, and striking! He didn't stay long, so I was glad to get such a beautiful shot.
