Spontaneous Stare Down

I caught this moment accidentally as an Arctic tern fortuitously spread its wings as I snapped a shot of this adult polar bear resting on the conspicuously barren landscape of an island in the Svalbard Archipelago. It appears as if they are looking at each other, bird to bear, almost intimately, communicating something only the Arctic can hear.
Location: Svalbard Archipelago, Norway
