This shot was taken at sunset on the beach in Santa Monica, looking north towards Malibu while there were fires on the horizon. The entire sky was a rose-colored haze, and the beach was expansive as the tide was at its lowest point. A couple and their dogs were the only other creatures on the beach, adding to the eerie intimacy of the moment.
