Taking flight

I traveled to Lake Bogoria in Kenya on a mission: To photograph some of the two million flamingoes that congregate there each year. Much to my surprise when I got there, I saw the water level of the lake had risen so much that all the springs were covered under the surface of the water. There was one geyser, covered under the surface of the water that still created a jet of water up into the air. It created a magnificent backdrop for a photo. I put my camera on the edge of the lake, pointed in the direction of the spring and with a remote release captured a few frames of flamingoes taking off.
