VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK, RWANDA A mother mountain gorilla (gorilla berengei berengei) appears to "kiss" her infant while grooming in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda. Infant gorillas spend the better part of three years with their mothers before gaining a degree of independence. There are fewer than 800 mountain gorillas in the wild.
