Mourning

Of the 3 month I spend on a game reserve, this must have been one of my favorite moments. As I slowly grew to love these thick-skinned creatures, one day came the sad news that 2 white rhino males had been poached for their horns. Just a few days later, we drove up to a puddle where the females and calves had been bathing. In this moment, they seemed to comfort each other about having lost members of their herd.
