The approximately 28 days old trout alevins used up all the yolk sack content. Now they are able to take solid food. But there are other changes as well. The muscles are much stronger so the young trout now is able to avoid predators. The stronger colors also help in the camouflage. But still, the survival rate can be on in a thousand.
