Karo Woman with head ornament made of insect wings in Southtern Ethiopia. Omo Valley is one of the unique plaaces on earth for culture and people diversity and the Karo Tribe live in the lower valley with an estimated population of about 500. The Omo River that runs through the valley is an resource and without it the tribes and the animals in Southern Ethiopia would not survive. In 2006 work began on the Gibe III Dam will block part of the River which the experts state will impact the ecosystem that was declared a World Heritage sites by UNESCO.
